Keep trying.... Keep waiting...Samira Tobiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08897397121861154559noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-837992364410270563.post-23166513842451107542012-07-19T21:14:00.002-07:002012-07-19T21:14:57.160-07:00Curioso?Hola!

I need your help please
Ya me dio susticooo
Jajajaja

Samira Tobiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08897397121861154559noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-837992364410270563.post-15969181692918562012-04-20T20:32:00.000-07:002012-04-20T20:32:26.434-07:00Good ... Bad.. News ¿?

My profile was approved almost 8 weeks ago, and I haven't had my first family around it yet!!!
Sometimes I'm worried, sometimes I'm sad and sometimes I have a good attitude about that.
Even I don't know if I'll find a Host Family soon I'm praying for it.
Well this is a really short entry and I hope come back with good news....
See you soon ;)
But is really easy do it.
Here there are tips for the video !!! (they come from the profile)

1. Film your video in a quiet place (indoors or outdoors) and make sure you have good lighting.

2. Maintain eye contact with the camera when speaking. Your video needs to show actual footage of you speaking.

3. Speak clearly, slowly and smile!

4. This is your video resume (CV)! Dress nicely, and don't talk about topics you wouldn't mention on a job interview. Host families will not be interested in watching videos of your boyfriends/girlfriends, or of you and your friends at a party.

5. Begin your video by greeting the host family, stating your name, age and the country you are from.

6. Once you have introduced yourself to your potential host family, be ready to describe some or all of the following:

o Why do you want to be an au pair?

o Why should the host family watching your video choose you to be their au pair?

o Share your childcare experience, and what you like most about caring for children.

o Share your personal interests, skills and educational background and goals.

o Talk about your home country.

7. If possible, include action videos of yourself caring for children. Some good examples are: feeding a baby, pushing a child on a swing, helping with homework, singing, or playing games.

8. Be creative. Do you have any unique talents, or musical abilities? Show yourself playing an instrument, painting, or playing your favorite sport.

9. You may want to thank the host family for watching your video, and let them know that you look forward to hearing from them soon.

10. Review your video and edit if necessary, prior to uploading it in Au Pair Room.

And here is my video :) Is not the better video but I enjoy it and hope that you too
PD: If you are in Bogota and your prospective agency is StudentVisa, you can take AuPair English course with Upstairs is very useful.
Samira Tobiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08897397121861154559noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-837992364410270563.post-83761669348535935742012-02-13T11:28:00.000-08:002012-02-13T11:28:40.416-08:00Process and DocumentsHi everyone !!!

Well the process begins when you pay something like a tuition (is a percentage in my case was $500 dollars), then you have to take an english interview (I was scared about the interview but was easier than I thought).

Example of questions

Why do you want to be an Au Pair?

Can you live apart from your family and friends? (give reasons "Yes, because.....)

Tell me about your childcare experience

Why a family should choose you like their Au Pair?

What do you do if "the kid is playing in the park and suddenly he/she fall down and hurt".(or something like that)

Could you live with a single mother/father? with couples of the same gender?

About your skills...

Many Au Pairs feel homesick. What would you do if you feel homesick?

What do you do if you have troubles with your host family?

How would you avoid the problems with your host family?

And those are the questions that I can remember :)

Then you have to complete your profile

When you have finished your profile you have to take some documents to your agency like

Passport copy

Driver license copy

Childcare reference

Personal Refence

Physician Verified Medical History

Au Pair agreement

Answer Sheet del Test Psicologico BF

Then you agency review your profile and after that they send it with the documents to AuPair Care in US.

Well that's it for now
Please let me know your coments.Samira Tobiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08897397121861154559noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-837992364410270563.post-39451107909441907332012-02-10T20:23:00.000-08:002012-02-10T20:23:23.693-08:00BeginningHi guys !!!
